26 Year old South African Lady Mur’dered By Her Ab’usive Baby Daddy

A 26 year old woman has allegedly been killed by her abusive boyfriend in Khayelitsha, Cape Town.

According to reports, the victim, identified as Aviwe Jam Jam died months after escaping her boyfriend who domestically violates her.

Her dead body was identified by her family on Tuesday after it was found at the Vygieskraal Stadium, Athlone, on July 29, roughly 24km from her home.

The Minister of Police Fikile Mbalula who visited the family at their home disclosed that the said boyfriend, has been arrested for murder and several offences.

Aviwe’s aunt Nondumiso Zizi said her niece had told her mother that she had left for Pretoria and that she should not look for her because she was hiding from her boyfriend.

She confirmed her niece had been in a very abusive relationship with her boyfriend whom she bore a 2 year old son.

“Aviwe was in an abusive relationship with this boyfriend. Aviwe’s mother tried to warn Aviwe of this, but she wouldn’t listen.

She loved [her] boyfriend, so there was nothing we could do about it.”

“Aviwe’s mother suspected that Aviwe won’t come [back] alive because the way the boyfriend was treating her.”

She also added that the boyfriend had attacked Aviwe’s step father when he came looking for her.

He and his friends had beaten up the man with a panga and he had to get 12 stitches.

“He [the stepfather] was ble’eding and the whole yard was full of blood because of them and the boyfriend climbed on top of him and said they should kill him.”

The minister of police also confirmed the boyfriend was arrested shortly after he assaulted Aviwe’s step father.

The police visited Aviwe’s mother, and the 56 year old woman showed them a photo of her daughter’s graduation.

She attained a tourism degree from the Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT). The police minister advised women to speak out on domestic violence.

He said;

“Women, stand your ground because if you put up with abuse, you are putting up with death.”
